Battery life will always decrease from the day you start using it, but if you run it down completely, then charge it up to full, the battery will last longer. If you keep it plugged in, and change it to outlet power mode, it will run off that, but also keep the battery full, until you unplug - where it should automatically change to getting power from the battery.

But, in short, apart from wear and tear, it shouldn't do anything bad to your laptop

if you charge your laptop twice a day you are ruining the battery because you are confusing the dry cells into thinking they need to be charged from the point you start charging from the best bet is to let your battery get down to 5%( set a zone alarm to let you know when it is that low) then charge your battery . the battery will last longer

if your laptop is plugged in all the time that is okay, but if you deplete your charge and then recharge, there will be residual memory charge eventually that will build up and reduce the time your battery can function without being recharged. It happens to all batteries and will happen to your eventually anyways.

Nothing will happen to the way your laptop functions. It is the battery you are recharging, not the laptop itself.

The bottom line is: you've got to replace the battery. It must be driving you nuts.

Yes, after you do this a number of times, your laptop will become sick and die. Or, in the worst case scenario, it will explode. Been there, done that.
