where can i find a driver for my audio device (Intel 82801DB ICH4 - AC'97 Audio Controller)?..can someone help

Is it best to keep the battry in my laptop,or with it permantly plugged in the mains, would it be better to remove it ? Would this removal increase or decrease the battry's life because at £120 a pop I want to keep it's life as long as possible !

Do laptops even take graphic cards? My cursor's been sticking and taking long to register my clicks when I am playing my thrixxx game. I recently changed my memory from 1x128mbs to 2x128mbs. Seemed to be more responsive til I started the game...Any advice/suggestions? There's some 7600-7800/512 nVidia cards that look promising, but I don't think they're for laptops!!! What would be comparable & compatable? Aloha & Mahalo for your help! ;.)

I have a Libretto 70 CT Toshiba Labtop from 1997 and its ment to run 95 and i accidently opend dos and typed format C: and it did and i cant get it to start and i need to know how to get it to and if you can help me i will be really Greatful

I cant just reinstall windows because i dont have the disks and i have the basic dos running with a few things working bt i require help with it i want a compuiuter expert basicly to help because i need to get it working the person who helps me get it workinng first will get 10 points and my graditude

I have an external modem connected to a my desktop. My kids will primarily be using the desktop. The laptop will be adults only and for banking and business. How do I connect to my DSL service? From what I understand, I will need a wireless router. Is that all? About how much do they cost, and are there any big differences in performance between various routers? Will my performance change if the kids are on the net at the same time as me? Thanks!

heres the deal, my laptop had xp pro, the hard drive went, the tech had to put in 2000 cause i didn't get the xp pro disk with the laptop.
i have xp on my home computer, can I use that disk to go back to xp on my laptop? they are both dell's. the 2000 does not support daul monitors for separate displays, for say KARAOKE, which I need

I bought a Dell Inspiron 8500 from a friend, He showed me that he was able to log on the internet, wirelessly. I brought it home and I tried logging in to it, and its not working. Even when I go under control panel and select internet options, just a box comes with no selections or any other connections. Took it back to him and he said he has no idea what is going on, since it worked for him. I even troubleshooted with my internet provider and they still could not find the problem, the only thing they said was that the ip address was not accurate since it started with a 169(?). Can anyone help, I am starting to think DELL SUCKSSSSSS!!!

I have an Emachines laptop and when I disconnect the power cord to use it cordless and power off of the battery, it only lasts for about 30 mins to a 45 mins. Is this a normal range of time or should the battery last at least an hour and a half or so? Is there anything I can do to extend the battery life?

I use my Laptop computer as my primary computer, as I can take it any where in the house. I always keep it pluged in and very rarely use the battery. I was told that I should NOT keep my batteries (Primary or Multi Bay back up) in my laptop all the time beings that I keep it plugged. That they last longer and pro long the life of the batteries if I take them out and only put them in when I am going to be using the batteries.
What is the best course of action to prolong the life of my laptop batteries?

My new computer doesn't have CD/DVD ROM and floppy drive, and has only one partition with NTFS, and I'd like to backup it, so I tried to use partition magic 8.0, but it did not support NTFS, so I counld't devide one partition into two, do you have any solutions? any partition's softwares could work with NTFS? I have microSC card that I use to put music on. Last week, when I put music on it, it worked fine. I tried doing it again, it won't. However, Windows Media Player says, "detected storage device," but then wont allow me to Sync. Then in "my computer" it says its there, but when I click on it, it says "please insert disk into drive E" or something to that effect. Whats happening and how can i fix it?
