I have a AMD Athlon XP-M processor and it can out perform just about any Intel processors with the same configuration. I was wondering if any body had any more input for me.
PLEASE no AMD bashing, OR Intel bashing.

That answer for the core2 duo was without any testing and was just hype. I have seen the reports and the athlon 64 x2 runs cooler and more efficiently at its idle. It may be less efficient at the brink, but most people are not going to be using it to the max.

I personally prefer AMD's.
Their price/performance has always been better, IMHO.

Both AMD and Intel claim their performance is better.
I tend to not trust data from a manufacturer that has a financial interest and profit motive in a product review.
Statistics lie just as well as politicians.

More recent reviews from Tom's Hardware can be found here,
which still concede that the Intel performance is higher:

EDIT: One requirement for the laptop I bought a few months ago was that it had an AMD 64 in it.
Now, if only I could have saved money by not having Windows pre-installed. :-)

I have had both. Next year they will both be better, it was the same with HAM radios. They both have strengths it all depends on the users needs.
