I hope you're not going to attempt to use your laptop while driving! But having said that, I recently purchased an air-card for my laptop. I bought it from my cell phone carrier and have the coverage from them. It gets the service from satellites, like a cell phone does. The card cost $120, and the service is $19.99/month for unlimited use. You can get internet service pretty much anywhere using it, although like with a cell phone, you might encounter a few 'black' spots. To use it in the car, you might want to purchase an adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I got mine for around $50 at Office Max. Hope this helps you out!

Well, I have a Toshiba Laptop that I hook up in my car, all the time. all you have to do is buy an adapter, right there at WalMart, and plug it into your cigarette lighter, or your power point. Then, plug the ac adapter for your laptop into that and voila', you are in business.
However, not a good idea to be trying to use it if you are driving.. too distracting..

buy an inverter (dc to ac) - it plugs into the lighter socket. then you plug your laptop into it as a power source.

You can get them at most hardware stores for between $25 and $100.
