The beeping noises are a POST warning that the BIOS isn't agreeing with something it detects during boot-up. Sometimes, mismatching RAM manufacturers is a bad thing. If it boots normally without the upgrade, the issue is obviously the new RAM. If it won't boot even without the new module installed and everything returned to pre-upgrade status, you may have static fried something while working on it.

512 Mb x 2 sticks = 1024 Mb or a million Gb. seems such as you do no longer need an entire 4 Gb RAM. 1Gb is probable no longer adequate. i might propose 2 Gb on your pictures and all. There are fantastically solid deals for a million Gb instruments, pairs of twin channel memory. be particular to lead them to same to a minimum of one yet another. you'll be able to harm out with no longer making them same in spite of the undeniable fact that it may impression your twin channel applications and of course overall performance.

youre trying to upgrade in a notebook 2 gigs? how old is the laptop.. the beeping is a good thing.. do you have 2x1 gig mem modules? try one of them.. itll prob boot with one.. try each.. if it boots with both than its capped at 1 gb max ram. if one works and the other doesnt.. well.. hm. you get the point.

HI

It means that the mem bank of your systemboard IS NOT reading the new mem , ITS NOT THE MEM ITSELF , the systemboard is not reading it , now try this , find the bios jumper and short it out so you can have a clean NO preconfigure so that way it will try to read it

Could be bad RAM. Take it back and take your laptop with you. Then try any new memory there. Hope that helps.
