It first started out that when I turned it on, it would boot up, but windows would not open. Well I was running a diagnostic and suddenly it just turned off. I can't get it to turn on at all. No lights, no sounds, no nothing. Anybody have any ideas on what is wrong?

I have tried removing the battery and using just the cord. I can't get any signs of power.

I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some RAM/ hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

yes just hope you have a protection plan because maybe its time for a new battery, or there are some BIOS and CMOS problems these are the programs that help your computer turn on. Go to circuit city or best buy and ask them they can test it for free, and they can tell you the problem

I had this problem once before. The thing that worked for mine was just to take the battery out and put it back in. That might not work in this case, but it's worth a try.
