And does anyone know whether there is a simpler way of using a laptop, other than with your finger and right and left mouse buttons.
Can you actually buy mini mouses? Has anyone found this has worked for them?

I have the windows XP upgrade. I paid over $100 when I bought it. I installed it on a laptop and 2 weeks later the screen on the laptop went out. It was an older laptop so it wasnt worth fixing. My question is this upgrade was for one computer but since the screen went out on that computer (I can't remember if I ever got to the point that I registered the XP upgrade..don't remember how that worked)..How would I go about installing this upgrade on another computer. I attempted to call Microsoft once about this but got someone in INDIA and didn't have a clue what they were saying....

I have a laptop that is 1.5 years old and its battery which used to hold 3.5 hours of charge lately only holds 1 hour maximum.
So, I crack open the battery and replaced its old, dying 6 cells with new ones which are of different brand (the old ones are "Molicel", the new ones are "LG"), but have the same specs (2400 mAh, 3.7 Volts).
Now after a full charge, I run the laptop from the new rebuilt battery. It says it only have 1 hour battery life. Ok, whatever, I let it run so that it should shut down by itself. After 1 hour, it says it only has 7% battery life left. I keep on waiting, and it is now hitting 2.5 hours mark, it still stays at 7%, and the laptop is still happily on and don't want to shutdown. I don't know, should I be happy or worried. Any input?

Hi,
I'm looking at buying my very first computer, The choice has come down to either an Asus F3JC or Sony Vaio VGNC13. Which should I get???

The Sony has the following:-
Core™2 Duo Processor T5500 (1.66GHz)
Main Memory: 512MB DDR2 SDRAM (2 SO-DIMM slots, one occupied) (partially shared with video memory)
Hard Drive: 80GB
The ASUS has a 120GB hard drive, 1024MB memory, Core 2 Duo Processor. It's probably less portable than the Vaio but seems to have more...
Help....Totally confused.

I am with a laptop that doesn't boot up fully, rather it attempts to
re-install Windows XP. It gets to a point where it says insert XP
CD...and click ok. When I click ok, it shows a dialog box with the
letter 'y' repeating accross d input box, as if being typed or pressed
on d keyboard. This happens even when the laptop keyboard is completely
disconnected and removed from d computer. I tried booting from an XP
installation CD, but it doesn't seem to show any response whatsoever to
that and it doesn't give an error message about the CD drive either. I
connected another keyboard to it, it responded to that keyboard (it
doesn't respond to the original keyboard at all) but thesame problem
still occurs. I have not been able to even re-install windows.

I'm getting a PC and plan to use it to play MP3's for DJ gigs. I know I will be using PCDJ. I intend to never have it online. I also plan to use it for working with Microsoft Office.

How much RAM, do I need?
how potent of a processor?
What else should I consider?

I want to keep this as cheap as possible... about how much will it cost?
