I'm getting a PC and plan to use it to play MP3's for DJ gigs. I know I will be using PCDJ. I intend to never have it online. I also plan to use it for working with Microsoft Office.

How much RAM, do I need?
how potent of a processor?
What else should I consider?

I want to keep this as cheap as possible... about how much will it cost?

Battery life if you are going to be in places for long periods of time where their are no wall sockets to plug into.

Screen size for resolutions your text will be easily readable,

Internal Wireless 801.11 b thru g. so you can connect at computer cafes without having to have a external PCIMCI card to worry about.

Weight if you are going to be lugging it around allot.

Ports; 2 or more USB, one PCIMCI card slot, SD Card reader slots for mini to normal sized cards, one Dual layer DVD-RW, and/or CD-RW compatible drive.

A phone line jack as well as a Router style jack in case you don't have a wireless router connection available and you want to plug into a Home Network with jacks but no wireless antenna,

Enough memory sockets inside the case so you can upgrade the Random Access Memory to at least 1GB or 2GB for better performance. They usually sell with 512MB of RAM.

A built in microphone in case you want to VoIP or even a built in Video Cam too so you can see and be seen when your talking with friends and family.

Don't forget Vista isn't on the shelf yet, so, if you're going to get a Laptop soon make sure you get one that has a Vista Free Upgrade coupon in the package.

Got to have your software tools. See to it, it has Microsoft Office's laptop version as part of the Package.
