Dual core processors are processors that have two processing cores on the same die. Core Duo and Core 2 Duo are Intel's latest dual core processors. The significant diff. between the two is that the Core 2 is 64 bit capable, whereas the Core Duo is not. There are some small architectural differences, but that's the biggest diff.

Centrino is not a processor, it's a platform. For a computer to be labeled "Centrino" it must have either the Intel 915 or 945 chipset, either a Pentium M or Core or Core 2 Solo or Duo processor and Intel's ProWireless wireless chip. If it has all three of those things, then it can be called a "Centrino" system. The 915 chipset and Pentium M are legacy systems now, so current Centrino systems will have the 945 and Core Solo/Duo processors. (as well as the ProWireless)

Well there are architectural differences between the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo, but they are by no means small. The Core Duo is the last of the NetBurst technology generation, the type used in Pentium 4s. The Core 2 Duos use the brand new Core microarchitecture. So the difference is an enitre generational difference, with the Core 2 Duos being much better.

Both of these chips are dual core. Centrino is just a branding name, look to see if it feature a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.

ok, i will attempt to tell apart each and each processor product for you. The center Duo processor are the 1st community twin center processors from Intel. (2nd in case you count huge style the Pentium D.). The center 2 Duo processor is a extra suitable kind of that (it particularly is why there a "2" between the middle and duo.) Centrino is Intel's processor for Laptops. Centrino Duo is Intel's twin center processor for laptops (This processor is in accordance with center 2 Duo as nicely.) Intel Pentium twin center processors are budget center 2 Duo's (this means they're the poorest performing center 2 duo's. to no longer point out they seem to advise to count on the Pentium call for this one.) center 2 severe is Intel's quickest processors that use the middle 2 Duo chip. this is many times the quickest obtainable center 2 Duo processors, hence the "severe" in labeling. desire that facilitates.
