Faulty installation. Turn on your computer and enter Setup. Select the boot menu and set boot priority to CD, hard drive then floppy if one is present. You should then be able to boot from the CD and repair your installation.

OK, this is going to be long. But I Know whats wrong. First, and most simple, someone was doing an xp install, and for what ever reason removed the cd before it was done, so, the installer is looking for the cd. thats why its "Looping" back to the install, its half finished. OK, now, take a look at your cd. if its a real XP CD, from microsoft it will have a hologram-like thing on it. Now, if is says "UPGRADE" anywhere, that might be your next problem. the UPGRADE IS Just that, its not a full install. The upgrade cd needs a previous OS on the computer, to upgrade. Now, a full install cd, is just that. It has everything you need on that cd to put a "clean xp" on place. Ok, the repating y, could be nothing more then the letter y key being stuck down, or a broken key, 100 certain on that one. Ok, the reason is nots showing any responce, could be, you have to point the computer, to the next file on the cd. It should prompt you, as to what the file name it is looking for, such as "whatever.dl or file.cab" This means you have to navagate that cd, untill you find what windows wants, its a bite, but that might be your only recourse. (I am going in order to your problems) the reason that keyboard by not be responcive is because its; probably broken, hence your troublesome y key. Ok, you might have to go out and get a full install copy of windows. I know it sucks, but this the best choice all around. Frankly the internet is the best place to windows, its cheper, and do not download it, becuase you do not know what your getting, and second, you will have to activate it in 30 days with a vaild serial number. Hope this helps...
