What kind of laptop do you have? Would you say you made a good investment? What would you say is the "best" one out there? When I decided to buy one, I went with the HP pavilion and it's always worked great and never given me any problems, despite what some people have told me. I've heard the Apple ibooks are really great. Should I get one of those when I decide to re-invest?

I have a compaq notebook. About a minute after windows starts up, a blue screen shows up that says "physical memory dumping" or something like that. Then my notebook just restarts and repeats this process over and over. I can't even run any antivirus or spyware before the computer restarts! Whats wrong with my laptop? Does anyone know how to fix this problem?? Thanks.

What's an Apple laptop that I could get for around, say, $50? I don't know anything about their laptops, but I want one of theirs from the 90s

What all could I do with it and such?

Yea, so I don't know what the lifespan of the older, 90s Apple laptops are. Or what operating system it runs on (or could run on.-- linux, possibly?) Or if you could type papers on it. or what programs you could buy and/or install on it. yea.

basically, a cheap older apple laptop (from the 90s) that you can type papers on, and simply get a feel for the the older apple OS, and shall eventually be dissected by the ends of my curious fingertips.

(oh, and also, do the laptops usually have a port to plug a printer in at?)

Well i have a kinda old laptop but not to old and it lags when i play games and use the laptop. It sometimes freezes for a long time then keeps going. Its very slow. I have defragmented it already (4hours) and i did many other things. What do you think i should do to stop this?! BTW i only have 256MB of RAM. You think putting a memory card (256MB) will help?

I'm going to get a laptop but I can't decide if I should get the Intel Core Duo Processor T2050 (2MB Cache, 1.60GHz. 533MHz FSB) or the T2400 (2MB Cache, 1.83 GHz, 667MHz FSB) at a slightly higher cost? I have no clue about processors and what the GHz and MHz are for? Is it really a case of more is better or just unnecessary?

I understand there are a lot of better notebooks for gaming but I am currently in college and on a budget. I was wondering if anyone owns a E1505 with the 258MB NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7300 TURBOCACHE video card and if this notebook is capable of good online gaming. ie: World of Warcraft or Halflife 2.

I'm planning to buy a Dell Notebook and the choices they gave me for the processors are:

>Intel® Core™ Duo Proc T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache)

>Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T5500 (2MB Cache/1.66GHz/667MHz FSB)

Which one is better? While I was searching online the Intel Core 2 Duo processor was cheaper then the Intel Core Duo processor. Why is that? I thought the Intel Core 2 processor was suppose to be more expensive. Can anyone help me out here please?

Here's the scenario:
1) My friend bought new hard disk for his laptop. He replaced the old one with the new one, of course.

2) He started up the laptop. The laptop is able to start up.

3) He wanted to boot-up from the CD-ROM in order to install the new Operating System, but it was said that there wasn't any hard disk present upon the laptop.

4) We checked under BIOS and it seems that there is no hard disk present within the computer as well.

The questions would be:
Is there anything I should do to a new hard disk before plugging it into the old computer? Or is there a way to rectify the problem?

Me and my frined, (both on separate laptops) were just on the internet using wi-fi, when my buddy turned on the microwave, we lost signal, when it beeped offk, it came back on? coincidence with a hiccup in the internet provider, or normal occurence?
