When I close my laptop it comes up with an error message something along the lines of, "Quick Launch is not allowing your computer to go into standby." I have messed with the settings, and everything is set right. Could this be a virus, or something was deleted that is not allowing this? Please help!

i have the kind of scroller that is inbetweeen the left and right buttons on the touch pad and yesterday a message came up that said "advanced features of touchpad turned off" and i didnt really think anything of it i thought it would turn back on by itself too but it hasnt and i dont know how to turn it back on so i can scroll with that button...does anyone know how i can turn it back so it works?

my dads laptop has tons and tons of work on it from over 10 years, he has tryed opening it a few hours ago and it wouldnt open. it will just reboot over and over it will give the windows xp loading thing. can u please help, how can he open the computer and his user. thanku soooo much.

I am sure we have a AMD x64 dual core processor for desktops but do we have one for laptops ? I want to go for a laptop.. I am in a fix if I should go for a AMD x64 processor (assuming there is only a single processor) or Intel Centrino Duo.. if we have a AMD x64 Dual Core in a laptop... I guess the answer would be easy. What do you suggest ?

My macbook would give me headaches like the type you get with low screen refresh rates on traditional monitors. I would also notice a pulsing of the screen when I would lower the screen brightness to a lower setting as if the lamp was about to give out. Anyone else experiance the same thing? I sent mine back. Did I get a lemon or is this common issue?

on either side of this window are 7" blank spaces that is blank, how do I get the window to fill up the entire screen. It is fully maximized, I think it must be setting or something. please help, thanks. it is dell 1505.

all the exe files on my pc are not working and they turned to a dos box shape , an when i click it it tells me an error message "the parameter is incorrect or "only a part of read process memory or write process was completed " and no programs start , any help plz , an antivirus or a worm detector to fix it

I have a new Apple, Mac Book Pro and a HP Color LaserJet 1600 Printer. I can print fine in Windows XP but when I switch over to OSX does not recognize the printer. Does this mean I have to get another printer so I can print from OSX?

I have a 25 GB hard drive, and there's only 1 GB of free space left. I've got a utility called Folder Size which shows the size of folders in Windows "detail" view, but at the top level of my C: drive the folders only seem to contain about 4 GB. I'm wondering where this other 20 or so GB could be hiding.

I just bought a new laptop off Ebay. Everything works except the external CD/DVD drive. When I put a disc in it tries to read it, but just keeps spinning until I press eject. I tried many different discs and they all do the same thing. When I press play on the drive icon it just freezes the play function. According to the device manager the drive is functioning properly. I tried this drive on my old laptop and it works fine. Do I need to install the drive or should the laptop automatically detect it? What should I do?

my optical mouse curser has frozen. i tried everything including con+alt+del. and that ddint even work. i even tried the windows key that didnt work either. i cannot shut dowm, reboot or anything! i checked my wires and connections, i dont know what else to do!
