Well, first off, you must be confused. You can't have memory LEFT, you just have a certain amount of memory. It doesn't get used up as you install more programs/save more data. But, as you install more programs, your computer might get slower because you don't have enough memory to support everything. In order to get more memory, you have to install another memory card. It depends on how many slots of memory your laptop has. Your best bet is to buy a 512 mb memory card or a 1 gb memory card. IT MUST SUPPORT YOUR LAPTOP.
Now, if you're talking about your HARD-DRIVE where all data is saved, then you can have 1.5 gig left. However, in order to fix this, you either need to get a bigger hard-drive, erase some of your files/programs that you don't need, try erasing your Temporary Internet files + your cookies + your history (in I.E., go to tools, Internet Options, and click delete files, delete cookies, clear history), or try reinstall your entire computer to clear out a bunch of junk. You could also get an external harddrive to store some of your data on there.

Hi I think there are lots of unrelevent answers in the list. First lets consider that you want a ask about the Harddisk space which is almost full now and you have only 1.5 GB left. As a commom tip delete the all the temporary files including Internet Browser cache. If you have many programs that you usually dont require in future then uninstall them and then clean you hard disk from the garbage data. That will give you lots of free disk space.

You have to get a larger HD for your laptop. Ebay isn't a bad spot and then you have to use a program like Norton Ghost to backup all the data. The you have to restore the data to your new HD. It's a little tricky but you don't want an external HD because it defeats the purpose of a laptop.
Secondly go to ccleaner.com and download the free software which will delete all your junk files. Protect your cookies and go on from there.

There are classes that help improve your memory but I can't remember where they are at. However, if your just getting old then it might be too late. Memory is the second thing to go, you know!

do you mean hard drive space or memory? I think you mean hard drive space. The only way to do that on a laptop for a novice is to take it to a bestbuy to get upgraded or buy an external firewire (if you have the ports), or usb hard drive.
