I just spilled water on my new acer laptop and then turned it on without realising. It just beeped alot and I turned it back off. I've got a standard one-year warranty from an independent dealer. Shall I confess or just feign ignorance and ask them to fix it?

I have an HP pavilion ze5300 laptop. It has a wireless "on-off" button and indicator light. Does it mean that it has the wireless card already installed? I don't want to buy one if it's already installed. I've tried looking through the manuel but its of no help.

I googled "laptop's fan is extremely noisy and computer shuts down without warning" - found out that it's probably an overheating problem and the fan is getting clogged.

How can I clean it? I'm hopeless with computers so I am not confident about taking it apart. If I bring it to a shop, are they going to charge me much? I read about using "compressed air" but have no idea what it is.

I tried using a vacuum to suck the crap out but it didn't work too well.

My PC is busted and I'm thinking of buying an Apple MacBook. I heard that PowerBooks have been discontinued.

I'm not looking for anything special but I would like a very good laptop so that I could do basic stuff like documents, watch DVDs, play some games and not have to worry about speed and memory.

Plus, I would like to buy from a company that has good customer service (I'm sick of Dell and I've heard Lenovo isn't good either).

Is Apple coming out with any more laptop models at the end of this year? Is it unreasonable to look for a laptop with 7200 rpm, is 5400 rpm good enough?

Any suggestions for any laptops from any company?

Thanks!!

I am asking from an LDC and PCs are fairly scarce over here. So please do not laugh at my asking. Help me also know whether buying a clone laptop which are the most available here, will put me at a disadvantage as compared to if I bought otherwise, which of course is too expensive for me at the moment. Do you hva e the exact technical or legal impendiments I will have opened myself to? Thank you.

All I see as my graphic card is "Intel(r) 82852/82855 gm/gme graphixs controllers", other than that I can't seem to figure what my graphic hardware is on my laptop. But if that is my laptop's graphic hardward how good is it for playing video games. Games like the sims, or the sims 2... not half life 2 or any other powerful games.

It should be lightweight and easy to carry, but reasonably priced as well. I'll use it for assignments, research and keeping in touch with my family.

Video Chipset: Radeon Xpress 200M IGP
Installed Operating System: Windows XP Professional
12-Cell Lithium-Ion battery

Now the HP Pavilion dv5220us
Processor Brand: Intel
Processor Class: Core Duo Processor
Mobile Technology: Centrino
Installed Memory: 1 GB
Hard Drive Capacity: 120 GB
Video Chipset: Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950
Resolution: 1280 x 800

Operating System: Windows XP Media Center Edit
6-cell Lithium-Ion Battery
