laptops in general, are slower than their desktop brothers. It could be the drive itself is slow, or the program you're using may be slow. Try using a different program to copy the cd. Getting more RAM is another option.

Are you copying cd to cd or are you downloading to hard drive then taking it from there. If so after you copyed it do you leave it on the h d or do you remove it. You should remove it that slows down a lot. clean up all the stuff you not need. I use system mechanic 5

Copying CDs takes up resources...try getting more RAM. I suggest not doing anything while copying CDs because that can cause the data to become corrupted.

i think it need more RAM (Random Access Memory)
secondly,while copying CD to your laptop,you must close another operation on the machine,otherwise it will slow down.
just take example of a man doing multiple operations at one time,then what happens................
check ur RAM yaar........

We have a ram and everything still runs slow while downloading it,s very annoying
