L1 – Level 1 cache
L2 – Level 2 cache
L3 – Level 3 cache
According to my knowledge these are some cache memory types you find in the motherboard of the computer. In present day computers, L1 and L2 cache is in side the processor while L3 cache is near the Chip (processor). The L1 cache is the fastest cache memory while L3 is the slowest and size wise, L3 is higher than L1.

If you're talking about PlayStation, then L1/L2/R1/R2 are at the back of the controller where the cord comes out, and L3/R3 are used when you push down on the Analog Sticks.
But if your talking computers, then L1 stands for Level 1 Cache (cache is processor memory), L2 stands for Level 2 Cache, and L3 stands for Level 3 Cache. (Cache is pronounces as "cash")

Abstract. The wavelengths and energies of Mo L1, L2 and L3 absorption limits have been measured with a curved quartz crystal spectrometer, and it has been found that the values given by previous researchers are considerably in error. A white line has been observed at the L1 absorption discontinuity, for the first time in the case of transition elements in the metallic state, as well as white lines for the L2 and L3 absorption discontinuities. The transitions corresponding to the absorption limits and the white lines are discussed.

different types of cache of ur CPU (temp memory storage. similar to buffer).
primary diff being the speed and size.
as mentioned L1 cache offers the fastest speeds but its tradeoff is in the size (due to costs)
most attn is focused on L2 cache nowdays when u buy new CPUs

diverse ranges of Cache on your CPU. L1 being the quickest and costliest it gradually decreases in velocity and fee via fact the numbers strengthen. yet they are all plenty swifter then the reminiscence on RAM modules. and lightyears forward in velocity then complicated drives and optical disks.
