First, the battery should not explode. The charging circuitry should prevent this or overcharging.
As concerns letting the battery get discharged completely and then recharging it, it depends on what type of battery your computer has. For NiCd batteries (and, somewhat for NiMH batteries), doing this periodically will help to retain their useful life span, reducing the "memory effect" that is common with these batteries. On the other hand, for Lithium Ion batteries, there is no memory effect, but some manufacturers suggest that they should be completely discharged and then recharged occasionally (maybe every month or two) to maintain synchronization between the battery charge state and the charge indicator in the system tray.
For both of these issues, consult your computer's manual or online documentation. If neither addresses these issues, try the manufacturer's web site.

laptops have special circuits that cut of the electricity onve the battery is full so there is no posibility of damage.
You can check your manual, it should be in there somewhere

and it's better to use the battery till it's empty , then recharge it .

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ,wrong this will damage your battery.you should use your battery and try to make it as empty as possible once a week and recharge it again.if you dont do this your battery will get damage.
