My laptop is fairly old, it is an HP ze1201, and my disk drive skips, and I need to run my OS Recovery Disk CDs. SO instead of buying an external cd drive, wouldn't it be better if I can get one Internal?

You can replace it, but internal CD drives for older laptops can get expensive. Plus unless you know how to replace it in a Laptop you will have to take it somewhere that knows how. Replacing a internal CD drive in a laptop is not as easy as you may think. I would recommend buying a USB External CD ROM it would be a lot cheaper than buying a replacement CD ROM for a laptop.

You can check for one on Ebay, theres always laptop parts up for sale on there.

Only thing I can say is an external drive is good because after you get rid of the laptop or replace it in the future with another one, you can still use an external drive. All you have to do is plug it in. But the downside is the space.

If you can find out. It is probably unique to that make and model. Laptop CD drives (ans hard drives and floppies, etc) are usually twice the price of a desktop of external drive. So you may have to weight price and availability against convenience...

An exterior force takes 10GB HD area to run ... greater helpful study that returned ... the drivers are very small for the utility, that variety isn't what you think of that's, and 10GB presently isn't something besides ... i does not subject approximately it, i think of you misinterpret. i like exterior drives. they are as rapid as you could pass with a DVD/CD force, and you are going to be able to pass them from laptop to laptop. inner drives are a soreness interior the neck to place in or pay to have somebody deploy, and based on the variety you manage your workspace an inner force may well be complicated to get entry to physcially whether that's below your table or some thing, yet you could placed the exterior on your table or pass it. THe exterior drives have lots greater flexibility in my view. another element to think approximately is that sometimes you could not boot from an exterior force in case you could reinstall domicile windows. that could properly be a huge deal, yet how oftentimes do you ought besides and deploy? with any luck on no account.
