Sound coming out from the device part of my laptop, is my laptop crashing soon?

Today dont know what happen, I can hear weird sound coming out from the device part of my laptop,not continuously, only once in a while.
sometime is sound like there is a disk running inside my laptop and sometime sound like a 'dial up', but i am not using dial up. does it mean my hardisk is crashing soon?
