I've played these DVDs before with no problems. The visuals are working fine but with no sound. Audio CDs play without any problems. How do I fix this?

Control panel - Sounds - Audio, drop down menu, default devices.

Is the subject with audio CDs and DVDs? Or is the subject with information CDs too? equipment fix is the terrific element to do first. fix back to a time once you bear in mind it working. If restoring does not artwork, boot into Safemode and attempt your CD there. in case you could not get entry to a know-how CD, there's a concern with the DVD/CD force. good success.
