I currently have an 80GB hard drive, but I'm buying a 300GB new one. My plan is to have the OS in the new one, and have the 80GB one as slave. How do I do this? I know I must first install the OS in the new one, but after placing the old one as slave, will I have to format it?

I know now what is missing from my computer, at the bottom it now says \System32\hal.dll is missing and i should reinstall it. But kinda clueless on how to make that happen. Reformating is the last thing I want to try.

I bought this IBM computer sometime in October last year (2006) and a couple of weeks later the fan started to make a very loud noise, almost like a scream. I replaced it with a bigger fan but i connected it staight into a powerppoint and not into the computer itself. This quietened the sound down a little but it is still quite loud. How can I stop this annoying noise??

I installed a Firewire/IEEE 1394 card on my Windows XP Dell just yesterday. Upon first installing the card, the computer responded just fine, and video transferred normally.

However, I tried using the computer tower with a different monitor today, and when I turn the computer on, the monitor acts as if the tower is off, or idle. The button stays orange, instead of green.

In addition to the monitor not responding, I've found that the tower boots up for a few seconds, shuts off, then boots up as it normally would.

I have checked the wiring time and time again, and have made numerous attempts at booting up the computer. It has had no problems prior to this.

I'm assuming that it's an issue with the card. If it is, what needs to be done to fix it? Or if it is not an issue with the card, what could it be instead?

Also, could it just be because I used it with a different monitor? Someone I know suggested that. It doesn't really make much sense to me, but I thought I would at least ask.

have PCVRS-430G (*upgraded RAM to 2GB)

I'm going to get

HIS Radeon X1650 Pro IceQ II / 512MB GDDR2 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card (this card needs two free slots)

But under the requirements is said
"HIS X1600 AGP series requires connection to your PCs internal power supply for operation"

What does it mean??? and how do I do that?? Will it work with my p4sn-vx motherboard?
