many things will determine what your max temp will be. the maximum temp that you will EVER want it to reach is around 80 Celsius that's like 175 Fahrenheit and still you will have risk of frying the chip if it runs prolonged at this temp. if your looking for the max ambient, idle, stress temps etc. that will be almost impossible to determine unless you bench mark your PC itself. Each CPU will perform differently depending on your configuration and room temp. even 2 literally identical computers will get different temp readings. If i was just to give you a general idea of temps assuming you are using an Intel board and stock heatsink and fan and a basic mid tower case the core temp should be about 45-50 Celsius in a 70 Fahrenheit degree room after idling for an hour, under a full load 60-65 in a 70 degree room depending on application.

60.1°C Max cover temp. The cover or heatspreader is the one in contact w/ the base of the heatsink.
If you are using Core Temp software take note that it extracts data from the internal diodes in the core.

E6700 has only 65W TDP, so it should not be difficult to cool even w/ the stock cooler.
