Are we supposed to magically know what you're talking about?

Hi Liette T,

On the Macintosh computer, you may need to re-install the Mac OS X if you bought a used Mac and you want to put in your own personal user account information on the computer. There's not really any other reason to re-install the OS at all.

Macintosh programs don't require to be re-installed on your computer either. They just seem to work flawlessly. I've heard Windows people say that you may need to re-install a program or even re-install Windows sometimes.

If I could suggest that you join a local computer users group, take some computer classes, or buy some computer books that explain stuff in common language. These could help you in the future. I hope that this has answered your question. Best of luck to you.
