I have good skill with electronic components, and with building computers. However, it has been a couple of years since I built one. So, I'm ready for an upgrade to the newest technology. Should I build it or buy it? Would I save much money if I build it myself?

Looking at properties on my C drive and it states that I have currently used only 13GB (it's a new computer).
Yet, BT informed me that I downloaded over 16GB last month and went over my limit. How is this possible?
Is memory stored elsewhere on the computer? I hardly download anything, just email attachments from friends.

I was given a computer that had LOTS of problems, a 10 year old "know-it-all" thought she would play with the settings, so I of course took it cuz it was free, and got it all up and running, ended up crashing it and buying a windows XP OS to put on it because it had windows 98 and I got it all running and now all of a sudden they want it back, so I am going to charge them for me fixing it. What should I charge them for this?

Does it pay to upgrade a 4 year old Dell PC to a larger hard drive, USB2.0 ports to replace 1.0 and add a DVD recorder?
Or should I buy a new one.
Does the Mac Mini make sense here?

when i try and reboot, it will go through the normal process, show the windows xp screen, then the screen goes black and it shuts down and starts to process over. I tried to reload windows xp but it will not take, it just keeps going through the same process over and over, shuts down and starts over. I tried going to last known good configuration, but nothing works.
