So far, the Acer's seem to be working pretty good. I haven't had any problems with my laptop; however, your asking for a pc. I believe the Acer is made by the same company that makes Toshiba, and Toshiba has a good name.

It's a little cheap, but sometimes the upscale name brands-- Toshiba, Sony, etc-- have the same issues that unknown brands like Acer have.

Look for a computer that has more memory on the hard drive that u are willing to pay for at a reasonable price.

Good Luck!!

I am 18 and I have been using a lot of different computers in my time. I do video production and web design. I recently bought myself an Acer laptop and it has worked very well for me. Great options and nothing is wrong with it. I did have one flaw for one day though. The mouse just started going crazy but the problem just went away in a day so I don't know what that was all about. But yeh, my friends have like $2000 HP laptops and they already got the "Blue Screen of Death" and their hard drives are screwing up and stuff. So basically I'd say acer is good for the money. I got my laptop for 600 (with a $150) rebate and I am VERY satisfied.

One more thing about computer - it's generally not the computer that depends on the performance - its the user and how well he takes care of his baby. Hope this helps! ^_^

Don't know about their PCs, but I have 2 ACER LCD monitors, and they have worked flawlessly since I bought them - about 2 years for one, 18 months for the other.

I also believe that ACER supplies the guts for other, more well-known brand names via their OEM program.

So, I believe you'll do OK with an ACER PC.

I've had an acer laptop for about 5 months now.. Its pretty nice... the only problem i had with it was when i first got it... the battery wouldn't hold a charge.. I called them up and they sent me a new battery the next day. Other than that everything has been flawless... it a good bang for the buck...

I have an Acer Aspire ZS600 - it was very expensive and I find it very difficult to understand. The printing is substandard also - no body knows how to fix it. Stay away from this make.

Stay far away from Acer - heck eMachines would be a better choice!
try going for a Dell or better yet a custom built one
