I recently purchased a pc with two hard drives. One of them I can access, the other (The HP Recovery Drive) I can't access. Would it be dangerous to delete the HP one, coz it takes up more than half my HD space...

Yes! That partition is so that you can you fully restore your drive if you blow it up. It is for recovery and it is small. If you back up your data and own your apps it is a good option to have available to you. It is not the same thing as system restore. are you sure you are reading the drive infomation correctly? The recovery partitions are never that big. The only reason(s) you may have a larger partition would be if you purchased a server with mirrored drives (in case one goes down you have a second to keep you up and running) OR there are three partions on the drive where one has the system and apps, the other has open space for data storage and hte last would have the recovery.

My other thought was that the drives might be showing up in a non-sequential order. Are you sure you don't have a DVD drive listed as drive D and your recovery drive listed as drive E? If the recovery drive was set up after the DVD was recognized (for that matter you might also have a CD and have a drive F...)

In your "control panel > admin tools > computer management > disk management" you can get a true look at what you have. It will ID your primary hard drive (disk 0) with it's assigned drive letter and size as well as ID your CDs and DVDs.

Recovery drive must be kept

It containt your Windows XP original program and other programs - as a backup in case your C drive is wiped out or not functioning

No you cant, thats where your operating system is installed.
It takes more then half the space because its a partition with about 10GB.

If you know how to install a OS from stratch, delete it, you can download drivers from there site and burn them to a CD.
