You have to open the pc to install an actual card- hdw(if under warranty opening pc could void warranty). If it's just to update the driver or software(program) that is associated with that hdw device, then you can buy or download most probably.

A video card is basically, a hardware video controller card and a video card driver is the software that initializes the hardware controller. I hope this answers your question, however, if you need to purchase a new controller card, you should check your motherboard specifications if it has an AGP or PCI-Express slots, however, my best guess is that you would have to upgrade your video controller to PCI.
I can give you a tigerdirect site where you could get a very good 256 MB PNY PCI Video Card. You may or may not want to purchase it, but I'm just giving you a sampler.
Just click on the link to get there.

it incredibly is especially a mix of Hardware and application reason I mentioned it incredibly is a mix if u don't have applicable drivers u won't be in a position to apply that still in Video Card it incredibly is been programmed via at as quickly as on its Processor so u won't be in a position to apply Hardware without programming it applicable yet whilst u evaluate purely relating to the full layout u can tell it incredibly is purely hardware reason human beings consistently take care what they see of their eyes previous that they do no longer look something in maximum of circumstances.

The video card is hardware. There is an actual card in your machine that you must replace to upgrade.

A video card is hardware. You'd have to go buy a new one and plug it into either a PCI slot or an AGP slot. If you do get a new one, make sure you get one with at least 128MB on it.

A video card is considered a "hardware". Programs that you load onto your computer ie: games ,photoshop, microsoft word etc. etc are considered "software".Hope it helped!
