I have searched my entire computer, including hidden folders and still can't find this folder. It is a huge size 40GB and I need to get rid of it.....it is taking up so much room.

I am NOT talking about the recycle bin, I do know where that is, but thank you for your answers.

Yes it is a strange question for sure. I have searched that method several times and still can't find it.
During a recent defrag I rec'd a message stating that it couldn't defrag. \recycler\nprotect etc etc folder. So I have been searching for it ever since. It has eaten up 40 GB of my hard drive and I want to free it up.
Thanks for your answers

Are you talking about the recycle bin? Right click anywhere on the desktop, select properties. Go to the 2nd tab, Desktop and click 'Customize Desktop'. At the top you'll see a list of special icons that you can enable, check the recycle bin icon and click OK to make it appear on your desktop.

This is a very strange question. If you know you have a 40gb folder and you know it is called recycler, you should immediately be able to tell where it is, however, if you really can't, do a search Start Menu -> Search -> All Files and folders -> type in recycler and search.

If you want to empty your trash right now just go to progams > accessories > system tools > and disk cleanup. Disk cleanup will find you recycle bin and offer to empty if for you as wellas all of the other garb on your drive. Defrag when you are done.
If you want to know where the recyle bin resides - it should be in your root directory in a HIDDEN folder called "RECYCLER". It is not the recycle bin icon. (you can right clickk and empty them right there or you can also right click and send it back to the desktop).

Try this...
Go to your desktop, right click and select properties. Select the desktop tab and then the customize desktop button. Select the two recycle bin options and select change icon. This may give you an idea where your bin is.

Instead of showing hidden files and folder, try to unhide operating system files. It's another option in the same list.
Maybe this link can be to some help. Haven't tried it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/229041

go to start>programs>accessories>system tools>disk cleanup
run that program for your drive with the 40GB of trash... a series of windows will pop up showing you what you want to be cleaned up.
