That is the question.
What are the advantages of partitioning the Hard Drive ?
If it is to have a back up area on the disc, and the hard drive throws a wobbler, where do you stand then ?

Device manager says that windows loaded the driver but cannot find the hardware. I uninstalled them, rebooted and windows recognizes that there's new "hardware". I checked the IDE cables and the jumbers (dvd is set as master, cd-rw as slave) and even replaced the ribbon cable. BIOS recognizes both devices and recognizes the set up as well (dvd master, cd-rw slave). Sony cd-rw crx175E and sony dvd-rom DDU1621. Please advise, I'm losing my mind!!!

I know the 3800 is better at the stock speed. The 3700 has 1mb of l2 cache and if it is overclocked to 2.4 ghz is the same as the 4000+. It has the same core as the FX processors and is £12 cheaper.

Just want somethin to do everyday stuff with and some decent gaming. Half Life 2, Source Mods. Even some intense games if I get back into it enough. I know DDR has higher latency but Im looking for long term, well as far as long term can go in the pc industry.

I want to buy a relatively cheap but reliable used or refurbished computer(desk top), mainly for office use. Mostly surfing on internet and using "light" software. Not games.

Do anyone know anywhere reputable that sells refurbished computers with some warrenty(at least 90 days)?

Thanks,

Johnny B

0 times symbol 00000000" referenced memory at " 0 times symbol 00000000". The memory could not be "read"

This is the notice I get when I try to access features on Windows XP control panel, Install New Programs and Run them etc

I recently reformated my PC using the Master Disc I created and not only does this happen now but my PC is very slow

My printout from the purchase from Dell clearly states I have paid for an Intel Celeron D processor, but my account on the Original System Configuration data shows I have a Celeron R. Both are from the same website.
Also, in XPSP2 Help & Support Advanced Sys Info, it shows I have Intel Celeron R. I read about both from the Intel site, but in plain English, which is more advanced and why? Also, I see that other items are in the Celeron R family. If "D" is more advanced, do I need to demand to change all "R" related products?
