only get a notebook if you plan on moving it around alot, and i mean alot like everyday or so. desktops have so much room to build up on. and always find one with a great processor(I like Athlon), the better the processor the better the system. it's cheaper and easier to get bigger hard drives, optical drives and more memory because virtually everything is compatible in that field, but the processor is different. if you need more help email me at JAnthony419@yahoo.com

Go to bargain sites on the internte. I go daily to these two sites:

www.bensbargains.net
www.gottadeal.com

They have postings from all sorts of stores that have deals, rebates and coupons. Gottadeal was really good because it showed you all the Dell specials and all the codes to punch in so you get the discount. Lately you can buy a good Dell desktop for less than $1000. I got mine for $747 in July including a 21" flat screen monitor. I wish I could have skipped the monitor, since I already had one, but now my wife has a kickass monitor of her own to use!

Do some research, go to Tiger Direct, Geeks, and some other web sites and build your own. It sounds scary, but it is real easy to do and you will definitely get more for your money.
