when i try to install the drive as a slave it will install but windows xp pro will not show the drive in my computer or windows explorer
please help me

when i run data lifeguard it said the drive is locked

I want to play neverwinter nights 2 and the minimum processor speed is 2 ghz.. I have a intel pentium 4 2.4 ghz and 512 mb ram but when i run the system test it says my com is running at 1.8 ghz.. how do i optimize it until 2.4 ghz and will i be able to play the game with my current speed? assuming that i meet all other requirement

I work full time in a factory but keep books for my brother's restaurant/bar. I have a terrible time with my desktop computer and need just a small, basic computer that is Windows XP compatible without all the bells and whistles. All I really need is the operating system, Microsoft Office Professional, and Quickbooks Professional. I can use the internet and update their website from my desktop or my oldest son's desktop, but I need a computer that I can carry with me when my brother needs immediate information.

I just purchased a Compaq Proliant server comes with
Dual (2) Xeon 3.06Ghz CPUs, 6GB DDR, and 2x146.8GB SCSI and 4x73.4GB SCI totaling 575GB+ of hard drive storage, 2 x DVD/RW drives and XP Professional installed w/COA. I thought it was a deal $ 400. What do people think about home use...thanks

i have a dell DEMENSION XPS T500 desktop, windows XP, pentium 3, 498 MHz, 640 MB of ram. it is a few years old,

well, it has about 50-60 gigs of free space but it is still very slow for gaming and even on IE,

[it is not my connection because i have an new dell and it runs fast on the same connections]

i would like to optimize my old computer to its full potential for gaming

We I start up my computer i get this message: "Windows could not start because the file is missing or corrupt" I have a Windows XP operating system. The thing is that I do not have the repair disk, because the guy who sold it moved away and I don't think this is a genuine version. Is there some thing I can do before I take it to a computer specialist?

I have 5 old personal computers I have used over the years and am thinking about donating them to charity. I would like to completely wipe the hard drives clean, though, since they hold personal financial info and word files, etc. Since they are pretty old not, one is actually an old 386, I really don't know how to go about wiping them clean. I need help because everytime I boot my computer a command prompt will pop up on my desktop with a command line C:/DocumentandSettings/vangaven/Shutdown -t 00 -F something similiar to that. I just need help on how to eliminate the command prompt period. Any help with be greatly appreciated!

Last time, I was able to fix this by changing my desktop background/ properties, but this time it won't work. I can't open My Documents, My Pictures, My Computer or even Recycle Bin. I've tried from the desktop and from the start menu. I click on these and all icons vanish, then reappear, but they're useless. HELP!!!!!

I am interested in buying you ntel core 2 duo. Where i ever i go in the market i am getting negative response for your core 2 duo. Everybody is suggesting not to buy now as its new ..They gives excuses like Intel is promoting core 2 duo processor with GIGABYTE motherboard. They say the intel core 2 duo is not compaitable with intel orignal motherboard.i am interested in buying your core2 duo E6300 processor. I need a motherboard which has minimum 3 PCI slots and 2 PATA connectors as i have 2 optical drive and 1 PATA hard drive. One of the seller even told me that Pata hard drive will not work with your mother board which supports core 2 duo like 965 and 945. SO could you please tell few motherboards which has min 3 pci slots and 2 pata connectors and a decent grpahics and audio which can support windows VISTA. Prfer intel original.

Hi,
My home comp (not this laptop) seems to have busted. it was brand new 6 months ago. it just froze during printing something. it was restarted and now all that comes up is a black screen, with white writing saying blah blah
start in safe mode
with coimmand prompt
with networking
with last known good configuration

but you try any one of these and it seems to start, the widnows thing loads, then the dell screen loads then it whirrs, whines and starts up again over and over. no matter what you do or choose.mum also thinks that there's a power light not on.
i've tried everything i know!
we're desperate!

i have a picture on my desktop but all the icons eg my documents, my computer, antivirus etc.. have a blue backing behind them, on my friends computer the icons are there but no backing, i want the backing to go so it dosent disrupt the picture background does any1 know how i do it?
