We I start up my computer i get this message: "Windows could not start because the file is missing or corrupt" I have a Windows XP operating system. The thing is that I do not have the repair disk, because the guy who sold it moved away and I don't think this is a genuine version. Is there some thing I can do before I take it to a computer specialist?

When you boot the machine up tap F8 you should get a menu of things. One of them should be something about recovery to last known working or something like that
