burn to a CD, email them, copy them to a USB device (hard disk or USB key), print them, floppy disk, etc.

I used to do the correct thing and go through add/delete quite happy that I was getting rid of things the CORRECT way. Fool! it doesn't work they just disappear into the guts of your computer. I leave the rubbish alone. I am aware this isn't an answer but unless you a very computer savvy I'd advise leave the junk where it is! Sorry.

Apart from what the others have said, if you are just trying to clean up use a free program ccleaner to get rid of rubbish. Otherwise use the windows cleaning tools in your hard drives disk cleanup option. my computer>c drive>properties>disk clean up

If it's programs you are talking about, sending them to the bin will not delete them. Use the program's uninstall, or go to add/remove programs from the control panel, and choose what you want to get rid of.

Right click and choose Delete sends to the Recycle Bin.

if you are talking about programs ? then you need to go into your sets-up# programs :add /delete
