My printout from the purchase from Dell clearly states I have paid for an Intel Celeron D processor, but my account on the Original System Configuration data shows I have a Celeron R. Both are from the same website.
Also, in XPSP2 Help & Support Advanced Sys Info, it shows I have Intel Celeron R. I read about both from the Intel site, but in plain English, which is more advanced and why? Also, I see that other items are in the Celeron R family. If "D" is more advanced, do I need to demand to change all "R" related products?

computer_surplus2005: I have a desktop (Dimension 1100), Dell System Model DE051.
Jake: It isn't the registered trademark.
Thanks.

Celeron (R) is anIntelProcessor.
Registered Trademarks are circled, Jake.
Is "R" older technology than the "D"
I was supoosed to receive? There are two types of "D"'s, unfortunately, mine is not the newer of the two. Could some wizard explain the difference between the R and the D processors?

I believe it likely is a Celeron D. The (R) stands for registered trademark.

If you google celeron r, you'll see lots of intel (r) and celeron (r). Sometimes they put the r in parenthesis because they can't easily print the circle. You won't find a celeron r model.

Too costly. it extremely is not properly worth it. Even much less if the computer screen isn't liquid crystal demonstrate. out of date factors, horrendously sluggish CPU (slower than maximum Atoms, 3x slower than modern-day Celerons!) out of date RAM is unfairly costly, previous difficult drives can die at any 2d, out of date OS (I guess it extremely is the two XP or Vista) examine web pages like slickdeals, warm deals talk board, for refurbished or clearance desktops.
