You need to reboot the computer (restart). When window programs close, all the memory the programs were using isn't always given back to the OS to use. This builds up and after awhile, the computer has to be restarted. Adding more memory will give you more time before you have to reboot, but it still won;t solve the problem. Using programs that manage memory also helps.

If you are talking about virtual memory then :
Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance Settings/Advanced
Increase virtual memory by 50% and see if that does the trick.
If you are talking about hardware memory then go to a computer shop.

OK, what did you download or install recently that caused the problem? I'm only asking, because if it happened all of a sudden you might have a virus. You might have even picked it up via drive-by download from a bad website or page.

You need to get more memory. Max it out if you can.
Also... If you processor is consistantly above 80%... it's probably time to buy a new computer.

how much ram do you have whats starting on startup?
start,all programs,startup delete everything thats there
turn your messengers off from starting on startup
right click on my computer,properties,advanced,advanced ,virtural memory set to 1024 high and low
