Hello ya'll, I bought a 500GB Western Digital netcenter external NAS drive, and I love it! http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=243
Some one told me I should be able to share the drive over the internet so that let's say my sister in another city can view pictures and data stored in it. How do I go about sharing this drive through my wireless router? Also, what would be the URL I would have to give my sis so that she can see the data? I am not too familiar w/ the different protocols, ports and ip mambo jambo...
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a home network with several computers, and they all belong to a workgroup. Now I also have a laptop from my employer. If I connect to my employer's VPN from the laptop I cannot see my home network's workgroup, but I can see my workgroup if I am not connected to their VPN. Unfortunately, that means I have to bounce on and off the VPN any time I want to print something to the printer connected to one of my home PCs. Inconvenient.

Is there a way I can see my home network's workgroup while I'm connected to my employer's VPN? Or do you suppose they have that locked down by group policy and there's no way around it?

I want to finally get my internet at home wireless. I only need something that can make it so I can have my desktop, Wii, laptop and DS on the same network. I probably won't have anymore than two of them online at the same time. Thanks for any recommendations.

My daughter bought a Mac and is trying to use it on my wireless network. She gets in just fine and can use the internet, etc. But about 1/2 hour later, the wireless locks up and we have to reboot the router to get it back online. Items plugged in directly seem to continue to function just fine.

I saw a hint in an online shop that Linksys products don't play well with Macintoshes. Is that true, or are there some settings I need to make on the router or the Mac?

The main thing I want is to run one ethernet cable to a pc, and then run one cable to a router. The reason that pc can't be hooked to the router is it needs to access a VPN, I really don't want to buy a VPN capable router.

I have two pc's and a laptop which I want to connect together in order to share files between them. I have already set up a shared internet connection which works fine, but for some reason I cannot share files on the network.
I am using Belkin Network Adapters on the two pc's and the laptop has a network card installed. All three run Windows XP.
I have tried using the Windows wizard to share files/printers but it does not seem to work.
Any advice or can anyone talk me through it?
Thank you.

What do you have to do to make it possible for an XP machine to accept an authentication to access shares from an NT machine?

When I click on the Computer Name in the Network Neighbourhood it gives me a Username and password box to log in but the login always fails.
