My stepson admits to opening pop ups but not to downloading the material. We have found undesirable material downloaded onto our computers hard drive, the law is trying to accuse one of us of purposely downloading this material so this is a SERIOUS matter. Can someone enlighten me as to how this all works? Feel free to ask any questions necessary if I haven't made clear the circumstances of the situation well enough.
We do have the pop up blocker that the guys at the computer store installed along with virus protectors and firewalls. I know now that more protection is needed but the information I really need is to know if it is possible that the material was an occurrence that was not performed by anyone 'downloading' directly onto our system from our computer.
Thank you one and all!

We're considering a backup solution for our small business network, and we're looking into many solutions (tape backup, external hard drives, Network Attached Storage). I'm leaning toward using NAS with a program such as Norton Ghost due to cost. Speed is not an issue, but reliability is. Any considerations as to why we should buy a $4500 tape backup with autoloader as opposed to, say, a couple of 500GB/1TB NAS drives which can be rotated offsite for about 1/5 the cost? We've just never had a backup solution here, and I'm new to all of this, and need advice. Thanks.

I have a linksys wireless router set up in my room. It splits the internet between my room mates laptop and another laptop. As it stands, anything after the router is in it's own network. My problem is the building I'm in has it's own network (has something to do with an ultra pier) and I want to be a part of that newtwork as well. My main computer has two LAN connections and I've tried to connect one cable to it and one to the router but the internet stops at my computer. My main objective is to connect to the network in the building for networking with itunes and still be able to transmit my own network wirelesly. Also I only have one intenet connection in my room.
