I think this is because telephone jack is near adapter;s switch. The frequencies of telephone and power may be mixed. As dial up connection is base on sound and all data trasfer is done by sound I think this must be cause . Tell me solution. Any filter availabe for telephone line for clear voice?

There might be something in the power settings that you can change. Also depending on your network card, you might be able to alter those settings as well.

looks like little strange, because connection speed should not be depended on power source.

however, if your laptop acts like this, then make connection while running on battery, and then fool it by plugging on AC power :)
