Open Control panel and go to Networks. Look for the networks listed. There should be one there for a Wireless Network. Right click on it and go to Disable. This will disable the laptop from acquiring an IP on the wireless network Now, take the network cable and plug it into the LAN port on the laptop, from the router. Make sure that LAN is enabled in Network settings. (Right click on Local Area connection and choose Enable (if it says disable) then it is already enabled. It should then acquire an IP address on the LAN. Also, if the wireless is in the laptop screen, turn it off per the incructions (FN+ F?).

Also, make sure you only use 1 connection from the router to the laptop. Do not use a USB cable if you are also using an RJ-45 connection. Using both will cause this type of problem. Good luck.
