Computer Networking - January 2007

I'm trying to install my WUSB11 wireless network adapter but when I click on setup, I get a blue screen flash, then nothing. I'm running windows xp on a compac 700 mz AMD Duron. This adapter used to work on this computer. I have seen other forums with a similar issue, but there are no answers. Any solutions before buying new?

I have a network called "Local". Attached to it is a wired laptop and a wireless laptop. My router is a Linksys WRT300N. Since adding my wireless laptop the network, I have had my connection drop on a continuous basis. My connection was fine until then. How do I remove my wireless laptop from the network called "local"? Or is there a way to stay in the "local" network without sacrificing my wireless signal.

Additional info:
2 laptops on the network
Router on 2nd floor of an open layout house
Currently file and print sharing (printer attached to laptop upstairs).

Im having trouble settin up my wireless network it says im connected wirelessly but if i unplug the ethernet to the computer no internet... Then i tried to connect to the network with my laptop but it says limited or no connectivity. Ive tried running the router disk again and its no help sbc set it all up idk what the deal is

How do i prevent people logging onto, and using my wireless internet connection?

I think other people have a serial number or something to type in before they can get on wireless. How did they do this.

I'm using Belkin if it makes a difference.

It's wireless. I was looking on Yahoo answers and someone suggested this but I don't know if this is my problem. Anyone have any other ideas?? The following is what I did find:

try changing the port you are accessing by on the router. if the laptop has wireless, turn it off, unless you are using a wireless router also. no need to format, waste of time and data.

go to start, run and type 'cmd' (without the quotes). a screen will up up. when it does type:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

when its done, hopefully your internet works. it destroys and reloads your old sessions for your internet connection with the router.

I'm finding it is a pain to talk some IT illeterate people through going to the run command and typing cmd and ipconfig etc to give me there ip address.

Is there anyway I can create a html file that will display all the details from IPconfig in a browser? I've found some ways of displaying IP details but most of it refers to script on the net and if a user has been disconnected they wont be able to use this obviously.

I am in the process of creating a global build and ideally would like to include this on all desktops.
