FTP - how do I put a file placed on my desktop to the remote server? What is the default directory for ftp?

I can connect using the command line (my free browser version currently does not work) and wondering what the default folder is for the local directory is. Thanks.

Are you at an FTP command prompt? Just type lcd and it will show you where you are. Your default directory will be under documents and settings and then your username. Then you can cd to your Desktop folder.

Bring the FTP address up in IE, log in with your ID and password, then just drag the file to the folder on the server.
