It's wireless. I was looking on Yahoo answers and someone suggested this but I don't know if this is my problem. Anyone have any other ideas?? The following is what I did find:

try changing the port you are accessing by on the router. if the laptop has wireless, turn it off, unless you are using a wireless router also. no need to format, waste of time and data.

go to start, run and type 'cmd' (without the quotes). a screen will up up. when it does type:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

when its done, hopefully your internet works. it destroys and reloads your old sessions for your internet connection with the router.

That wont stop frequent connection losses. Thats usually caused by interference in which you can change the channel of the wireless signal in the routers settings or the firmware for the router needs updated. Try disabling your antivirus if you have one, to test and see if that is what is causing the disconnections too. There is also a setting in Windows that turns off power to your network adapter when it sits for a certain period of time.. forgot where though do some research..
