I'm trying to install my WUSB11 wireless network adapter but when I click on setup, I get a blue screen flash, then nothing. I'm running windows xp on a compac 700 mz AMD Duron. This adapter used to work on this computer. I have seen other forums with a similar issue, but there are no answers. Any solutions before buying new?

Do other USB devices work on the computer? If not then maybe a problem with you USB ports!

Also when plugging in disconnect other USB devices

Also turn off the automatic restart > right click on MY COMPUTER > then PROPERTIES > then ADVANCED > SETTINGS on STARTUP AND RECOVERY

untick the automatic restart

Now put the USB adaptor in - see if the blue screen stays on this time and gives you a error message > put this error message into google this can give you vital clues

Also goto compaq web site to see if there are updates for the chipset on your computer > sometimes this can sort the problem out

hope this helps
