The goal being to turn my laptop into an access point for my PSP, because I don't have a wireless router at home but I do have a wi-fi card for my laptop. The laptop is connected to a wired router for internet access at home, and its wi-fi card is only used when I'm on the go. Just wondering if I could use the laptop as a gateway for other wireless devices at home.

Any other information on setting up home-made access points would be good too.

Any wireless router I've had with wired networking ports seem to come lose very easily. The least bit of stress on the CAT 5 cables and the computers lose connection or the modem does to the LAN. Is there a way to solve this problem?

I have a netgear wireless router. Connections are made both via wifi and wired connection and both experience momentary internet dropping every few minutes. The drops are only for a few seconds and then the connection reestablishes itself. We've tried replacing the router and the cable wires to no avail. What would cause this to happen and how can i fix it?

When I first installed Vista on both of my computers, I usually ran my main computer under XP Pro to have access to all my software. At this time I have my main computer using XP Pro and my secondary running Vista. I have shared files between the two systems frequently, but as of late neither system will recognize the other system in the network. Has anything been changed in recent updates? This week I formatted and reinstalled both systems and still can't get either system to recognize the other computer on the network.
