What wireless modems are compatible with BT broadband?

Question

I have BT broadband via a wired connection and I want to buy a wireless router but dont know the best one to get, other than going with the official BT one. Which ones are compatible for both Mac and PC and work with BT, and which are the best and most reliable makes.

in my experience as a life long bt customer and with bt broadband since its inception,i have found that any router will work with bt broadband but you have to make sure its a "modem router"
cable broadband such as n.t.l use a cable router,as the adsl signal they use is different to a adsl signal on a phone line
so when buying a modem router or sometimes known as a "router modem" just check the box or specifications and it will normally tell you if its comaptible with bt,such companys like dabs(http://www.dabs.com/ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=3XWK&CategorySelectedId=11177&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11177,4294960266&InMerch=1) and misco(http://www.misco.co.uk/categories/~1231~/Wired.htm)are among the best and the cheapest broadband modem routers you can buy,i use dabs all the time ecspecially for graphic cards and memory

Not sure how many will work well with both pc's and mac's at the same time but the bt home hub thing works really well we've got 5 pc's linked up (including the neighbour's for a small fee every month :D). We had a belkin 54g wireless router and modem before that and if i were you i wouldn't touch it with a barge-pole it's awful the connection kept dropping and screwing up, whereas we've had the home hub for 5 months and it hasn't played up once (yet). plus you get the option of using a broadband phone with the home hub which has really good quality calls (high definition apparently) and it's pretty cheap.
Bt also have dedicated services set up for problems with the home hub, they won't help you out if you're using any other router / modem as "they aren't qualified" to do so.

as long as it adheres to the wireless protocol it will work and you should have some wireless broadband software installed on your pc within its build. If not most routers come with it. Beware the cheap deals as the power units tend to pack up quickly and can damage the chips in the router.

most routers will work with bt if not all i use an airstation g54 from buffalo and i have 2mbps bt broadband it works absaloutley fine also it's easy to set up and is very raliable. you can get cheap routers from www.amazon.com or www.savastore.com
