We have a Belkin wireless adapter, and my son showed me tonight that my next door neighbors was listed as sharing a connection with ours. What should I do to REMOVE them? Should I be worried about security issues?

I intend to plug ONLY the cable modem and router into a UPS (not the computer itself, which is on a separate surge protector). What size UPS do I need?

Also, is this a better option than an APC SurgeArrest 11 outlet?

I have 2 circuits that I have no payment records for. One of the circuits is down and I need to contact support for it, but I cannot identify who the carrier is. Can anyone decipher these circuit IDs:
80DH2X544088DS1
80DH2X544091DS1

I have contacted the carriers for my other services and they all say they are not the carriers for these circuits.

ANy help appreciated, but winner is first to get the actual carrier correctly.

Okay people...the computer I need to connect TO - the desktop - doesn't have a remote connection option, being Home Edition; the computer that will be doing the connecting - the laptop - is Media Center and DOES have that option. I need to connect it so that I can access the desktop from the laptop. How can I set it up so that my desktop will have that option to connect from the laptop? I don't need something that's going to connect me to the laptop via the desktop, because that won't help me. I need to be able to access my desktop when I am away from it.
If you DO give me a link, please explain it a little, as I am computer illiterate and would love walk through directions.

I know that I cannot set up a remote desktop with the version of XP I have (Home Edition) but does anyone know a program that would put it in anyway and allow me to set it up? I just want to create a connection between a Media Center (which is allowing it) and my Home Edition. How can I do this?

I am wondering if I mount a USB drive as a folder in one of my hard disksCreates, to make a permanent folder then set it to share that over a network. Then throw a OS on my USB stick. Set my other networked pc's to boot from network. Could I then boot windows off the USB, from any other computer on the network? (In my bios there is no setting to boot from USB, however there is a boot network option!).

Basicly I am wondering if I do this to my USB stick;

Connection diagram cable modem -- > g-router -- > G5 -- > laptop. Once in a while, when Im using the laptop at the same room as the router, I can wire connect to it. Will file transfer and online connection be faster via hard wire from router to laptop?
