To my knowledge, some if not all routers for home use are Ethernet. You'll usually get 4 ports, however if it's a wireless router and each computer has a wireless card, the number or ports shouldn't matter. I got a Belkin one for $25 and it hasn't let me down. Some of the LinkSys ones are ok but not as reliable, from what I've heard. The one I got for $25 was at Office Max and on sale, but I'm sure they're on sale elsewhere at other retail places.

Best option is to buy Belkin Wireless Router as you may need wireless capability at some stage if not right away. Look for the best price on pricegrabber.com

That all depends on the time of the year, where you live, and what feature you're looking for.
On the average, if you're a home user, a basic router will cost you around 50 bucks. This will give you basic security and routing functions that most home users will be happy with.

we like Tiger Direct for practically everything. J&R is also ok (I think that's the name). you can always try Ebay but make sure you know exactly what you're looking for and read the listings closely!
