I am wondering if I mount a USB drive as a folder in one of my hard disksCreates, to make a permanent folder then set it to share that over a network. Then throw a OS on my USB stick. Set my other networked pc's to boot from network. Could I then boot windows off the USB, from any other computer on the network? (In my bios there is no setting to boot from USB, however there is a boot network option!).

Basicly I am wondering if I do this to my USB stick;

When you get that page to load change the 1 at the end of the address in the address bar to a 9. That works for me..

If your PC is capable of Network boot, and you have boot files on a share, I can't see why it would make a difference that it is an active USB device on another node. A folder is a folder, is a folder...,? They claim Puppy Linux and Damn Small Linux are capable of USB booting from a thumb drive (maybe Knoppix, too, if memory serves), or if your USB thumb drive is big enough you might even be able to get a Windows XP install over the network going from it. Heck, try it and see! If you smell something burning, maybe shut it off.

"My CD opener thing is broken" If this means that the button you normally press to open your drive is broken, you can still open it. Use a straightened paper clip, and on th front of the drive there will be a very small hole, just below the bit that comes out. If you push in there, this will unlock the drive and you can open it manually. If you put a cd into the drive, close it, and then reboot, if the system is set in the bios is set to boot from the cd drive, you should be successful with a bootable cd. This would bypass teh problem you have with settings in the bios. You might be able to boot from a usb drive, but that does depend on the age of the motherboard and bios. But for that advice we would need the make/motherboard/bios in order to give detailed advice.

I'm not sure if you can boot Windows from network, I know for a fact MS-DOS can be booted from network (Age old Novell).

If you can boot windows from network then very well you can try what you are saying and it will work.
