laptop and internet?

Question

i have recently purchased a laptop, but my only problem is that i have it set up upstairs and there is not any phone jacks close o it so i can connet the internet.....are there anyways i can still connect it to the internet without a phone cable.....and that is cheap

You can get a wireless router, but they aren't that cheap, and to set up for dial-up internet might be a bit unusual.

If you're using a dialup account, there's no way but to have another jack installed, or get a really long phone extension cable.

If you're using broadband, just grab a wireless router and hook it to your broadband modem.
