I frequently have to access files on my Windows PC over a network from my Mac. Is there a way that I can disable Mac OS X from showing Windows file extensions?

I mean from the line of numbers at the top of a laptop keyboard.
I can press a 2 but when I want a " [[shiift and 2]] I have to actually shift and ' which should normally produce a @

I AM SO CONFUSED!
What can I do?

Ok, I got this software and I am 56 and it seems so detailed and all. I have taken many pictures I would like to put on the front of cards and send as gifts to others. Is anyone familiar with it and want to give me some easy basic steps so I don't have to read the 64 page manaul :) I have uploaded pics and done quite a bit etc, but this has so many options. Anyone want to help an oldie but goodie ?

I believe that there is a power supply requirement written on the 8600GT box, but I cannot take the box and read. I try to find the PSU requirement for 8600GT on the net, but I just can't seem to find it, I even try the Nvidia website. I know that the power supply requirement for 7600GT is 350watt, but how much is enough for the 8600GT?

hi! i wanna buy a new desktop for doing animation and video editing.i will be using 3ds max,maya,adobe after effects,adobe premiere pro,eyeon fusion,pixologic zbrush and photoshop...can you please suggest me a good configuration for it...mainly i want to know about the processor,the motherboard and most importantly the graphics card coz i dnt hav any idea bout it...also which monitor will be better a crt or a tft...though iv heard tft's r better for animation but they have certain longivity problems...

My friend recently installed windows xp on my laptop. After he did that, i noticed that my screen flickers lightly the whole time its on. Also, the mouse pointer moves, and kinda lags while it does. Its just wierd.

I have 512 ram, and i had windows 2000 b4 he put xp.
Does this mean that the xp is ungenuine, or is it because of something else? Is there anyway to fix it?

I have got a MCE computer with tuner and a ATI radeon X850 graphics card. The problem is that the fan in the graphics card blocks the PCI-E port for my tuner and with a dial-up modem in the other one i cant watch tv without swapping the two things round. or is there another way round the problem.

if you can get a external PCI-E port please leave details on where you can get it from.

is it possible to install a separate antivirus program just for the external hard drive? im planning on buying an ext.hd but im worried that viruses might attack it.

how can i protect my ext.hd against viruses? is the MAIN antivirus enough on protecting it or do i have to install a separate one?

Guys, I really am desperate here.

I opened my computer this morning to find my entire language, basic language (text) to be some kind of giberrish, I tried chaning my text language, and I Mean, there is only "System" and some other werid one.
When I should have all kinds of them, to modify my computer's appearance, you know, in Control Panel.

I need help, it was fine last night, I closed it, opened it now, and it screwed up.
